Lowe’s HomeCare+ Will Help Tackle Your To-Do List (We Tested It & Loved It!)

Want to knock out a bunch of home maintenance tasks without having to think about them?
Lowe’s just rolled out a new HomeCare Program, and it’s actually pretty impressive— for under $100 a year, you get two in-home visits, with up to seven maintenance tasks handled each time. That’s a lot of help for the price.
You can choose from services like:
- Electric dryer vent cleaning
- HVAC air filter replacement
- Refrigerator water filter replacement
- Electric water heater flush
- Garage door lubrication
- Smoke/carbon monoxide detector battery replacement
- Light bulb replacement
One quick heads up: you’ll want to have any replacement items on hand before your appointment, so everything can be completed during the visit. That includes air filters (for HVAC replacement), refrigerator water filters, batteries for smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, and light bulbs (you’ll also score 5% off the items you need to replace)!

Our Hip Sidekick, Chelsey, gave this service a try. Here’s what she thought:
What a cool new service! I was fortunate to be near 1 of 2 stores in Arizona that is offering Lowe’s HomeCare+, and after just one visit, I can see the benefit and imagine this service growing so much! I had the pleasure of meeting two Lowe’s reps as one was in training, and they were both so respectful and helpful (even while we were entertaining 6 kids and 4 pets 🤪). They walked into a literal LOUD zoo and were very calm and got all the requested services done, and then some! Although I had all the necessary parts/filters/ etc., they did come with some backup supplies if I had ordered the wrong item. They were very thorough and spent about an hour in my home, and seemed genuinely on board with this new service! If you don’t have time or neglect the ‘little things,’ Lowe’s HomeCare+ really is a lifesaver.

*Lowe’s HomeCare+ is only available in select ZIP codes, and you may cancel at anytime. All services are restricted to a maximum height of 12 feet. This program renews automatically annually, but you can cancel anytime.
Thinking that this was a steal until I read that you supply your own materials 🤣 this service is a great idea though!
Yes! Such a great idea.❤️ I actually suggested it to my Parents and Mother in Law since they are older. This would be so helpful for some of those tasks that have become harder for them to manage. Thanks for commenting, Vanessa!
This would be nice If you could order the supplies needed for the tasks and they brought them. Also, I have propane water heater, and I just spent $500 on smoke detectors that have non replaceable batteries that last 10 years. Also, I have a washer and dryer on 3 levels of my house I doubt they would clean all 3.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it, Sue. We’ll be sure to keep watch for any additional details or changes to the service. 💕
3 sets of washers and dryers sound crazy haha
This is very expensive for easy and basic maintenance. I can maybe see an elderly or handicapped person paying for this, but these are all things that we have done for neighbors and friends who need extra help.
I would think most communities would have programs that offer these services to free.
Hi Betsy, I just had a water heater flush and it was $250 so this is actually quite a steal!
A lot of communities do! A great place to check is the local library. They tend to have a lot of information on free services that benefit seniors, disabled or special needs families. Some churches offer things like this as well, including basic car maintenance (a huge lifesaver for military spouses and single parents).
We just got our smoke detectors replaced by the local fire department. They also detect carbon monoxide which our old ones did not do. We only had 2 as well and they put one in each one of our 3 bedrooms. Free
Thanks for sharing that! 🙌 Great reminder to check for free and local resources on some home services too!
If you would have posted this on April 1, I would’ve scrolled down assuming that it was a joke.
This is a good service plan and I’m confident that it will prove useful for others.
Since it covers two visits, it may not be a bad value. Assuming the services take about 2 hours, at $100 for 4 hours that’s $25/hourly which incorporates Lowe’s expenses.
Thanks h2s crew for all that you do!
Thanks for the sweet comment, Lisha, we sure appreciate YOU! 💕 And such a great breakdown, it really helps put the value into perspective. Hoping that helps others as they decide if it’s a good fit!
